Privacy Policy
Effective Oct 10, 2026
This policy explains what information FunCoding (the funcoding.ai website, funcoding-cli, and FunCoding accounts) collects, how we use it, how long we keep it, and how you can manage it. The Services are run by an individual; "we" means the operator of FunCoding.
What we collect
You can browse the whole site without an account. When you sign up and use an account, we store:
- Account details: your name, email, and avatar. With GitHub sign-in we also store your GitHub username. With email sign-up we only store a hash of your password, never the password itself.
- Your content: the Skills, MCP servers, posts, and news you save, and the lists you create.
- Sign-in sessions: the IP address and browser used to sign in, to keep you signed in, spot unusual sign-ins, and limit request rates.
- CLI authorization: the device code and token used when funcoding-cli signs in.
We don’t ask GitHub or Google for access to your repositories, mail, or files. We only read your public profile and email address.
Analytics and error reports
- Analytics run on our own Umami server without cookies. It only counts page views, referring sites, and browser and device types in aggregate, and isn’t used to identify you.
- When a page breaks, the error is sent to Sentry (an error monitoring service), including the page address, browser version, and error details, so we can fix it.
How we use it
- To sign you in and sync your favorites and lists across devices and funcoding-cli.
- To send account emails, such as email verification and password resets. We don’t send marketing email.
- To prevent abuse and attacks and keep the Services running.
- To learn which content is useful and improve the site.
We don’t sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
Services we use
These providers handle some information on our behalf, each only for its own job:
- GitHub and Google: confirm who you are when you sign in with them.
- Resend: sends account emails and receives your email address and the message.
- Cloudflare: speeds up and protects the site. All requests pass through it.
- Sentry: receives error reports.
- Cloud server: the website and database run on a server we rent.
Except where the law requires it, we don’t share your personal information with anyone else.
Cookies and browser storage
We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in, and browser storage to remember preferences such as the theme. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
- Account details, favorites, and lists: until you delete your account, then they are deleted together.
- Sign-in sessions: until they expire or you sign out. Resetting your password signs out your other devices.
- Email verification and password reset links: expire after 24 hours and 1 hour.
- Error reports and server logs: only as long as needed to investigate problems.
Security
The whole site uses HTTPS, passwords are stored only as hashes, only administrators can reach the admin area, and sign-in and email endpoints are rate limited. No system is perfectly secure, so use a password for FunCoding that you don’t use anywhere else.
Your rights
- View and change: manage your favorites and lists in your account page.
- Delete your account: email us at the address below. We’ll confirm it’s you, then delete your account and its data.
- Revoke access: remove FunCoding’s access at any time in your GitHub or Google account settings.
- Questions or complaints about this policy: email us.
Processing outside your country
Our server and the providers above may be located outside your country or region, so your information may be stored and processed there.
Children
The Services aren’t meant for children under 14. If we learn we’ve collected a child’s personal information without a guardian’s consent, we’ll delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. For significant changes we’ll post a notice on the website and update the date at the top of this page.
